Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 17, 2026

Overview

FeedShield is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle data when you use our Chrome extension.

Data Collection

FeedShield processes post content from your social media feeds to provide filtering services. The extension sends post text to our cloud API for classification.

We collect:

  • Post text content for real-time classification
  • Anonymous usage statistics (number of classifications, filter types used)
  • Technical data (browser version, extension version)

Data Storage and Retention

Post content is never stored. When you browse your feed, post text is sent to our cloud API, classified, and immediately discarded. We do not maintain logs or records of the content you view.

Anonymous usage statistics are retained for service improvement and may be aggregated across all users.

Third-Party Services

FeedShield uses Google Gemini Flash API for AI classification. Post text is sent to Google's servers for processing and is subject to Google's data handling practices. Google does not store this data beyond the immediate processing required for classification.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Disable filtering at any time via the extension popup
  • Uninstall the extension to stop all data processing
  • Request deletion of any stored account information

Security

All data transmission between the extension and our API is encrypted using HTTPS. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
